A little wine and a movie

Friday, Sept 12th I drove Stino (short for Agostino) my husband to the airport. He was flying to Calgary Alberta to film the football game there. Calgary versus Montreal.
That's his job... a Freelance Videographer. Hope I am spelling that correctly. He is one lucky guy as he really enjoys his job. On the way home I stopped over at "garbage mountain" (that's not the correct name of this place but it's huge hill that used to be what I think a dump but now a park and a great view of Winnipeg). Once, at the top I got out of my van and took out my camera. I wanted take some shots of Winnipeg but the sun was in the wrong spot so my photos turned out very hazy.
Driving down the hill, I get a call from Stino that his flight that was to leave at 11:30 am is now delayed until 12:30 pm. I was close by to the airport but had to get home as the kids were coming home for lunch.
After lunch the kids went back to school and I headed over to my friend's house, Karen.
What a beautiful warm and sunny day. Just perfect for sitting on her deck and enjoying some wine, cheese and grapes.
Karen and I have known each since grade 9 (1980)We don't hang out much but do get together a few times a year and Friday was the perfect day.
The wine was very nice and so was the company. I left at 3:15 pm as I had to get home before the kids got home from school. On the way home I developed a huge headache. I rarely get headaches so can only guess this must have been from the wine and sitting in the sun.
I laid down for one hour and tried to snooze but the phone kept ringing. Drove me nuts. At 4:45 pm I got up from the couch and felt a wee bit bette4r.
Got ready and my friend Andrea arrived at about 5:30. We drove to my in-laws to drop off my kids.
Andrea and I then went to the St. Vital movie theater and met her friend Bonnie. The movie started at 7 pm. The movie we were watching was The Women
I did enjoy the movie but wouldn't say it was great. When I was watching the movie I had to keep one eye closed as my headache was back. So,I was actually looking forward to the end of it.
Picked up the kids at in-laws and once they were in bed, I wasn't too sleepy and decided to watch the movie Sex and the City
then I realized that Candice Bergen
and Joanna Gleason were both in The Women and also Sex and the City. Cool, huh? They didn't have big parts but still I thought it was pretty cool that they starred in two block buster movies. Hey I just realized that Joanna Gleason was born here in Winnipeg Manitoba.
The kids and I, picked up Stino at 11:30 am. We went through Tim Horton's drive through and each got an iced cap (stino got his usual double double coffee). From there we drove to Assiniboine Park where we headed over to the Leo Mol Garden. I took or rather we all took several photographs, which I will try to post here. I'm sure it is easy to add photos. I just have to figure it out next.
But for now we are watching a 2 part movie called The Flood on CBC so I should stop blogging and watch it so I know what's going on.
