How to save and convert a music video in youtube to mp3-wma

I thought some might be interested in knowing how to save a music video from youtube and then say you only want to listen to it as an mp3 or wma and not view it as a video

First you need to download realplayer http://realplayer.com/
Click on the free one

Next you need quick media converter for free
http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/
Install that.

This next one is optional as it is not free
But some music videos at youtube have talking in them whether it be at the beginning or ending and I use
Nero Wave Editor to remove that part

Here is some screenshots I just put together

First find your the youtube video at youtube site
Having realplayer installed you then will have this pop up appear over the video
If not just place your cursor over that area and it will appear
Click on download this video

This screenshot indicates that it could take up to 18 mins to download it
but winded up only taking a few seconds

Once the download is complete you will get this notification
You can choose to click on play to allow real player to play it for you but if you
Want to convert to mp3 see next screenshot

Real player videos by default go to my documents--my videos--realplayerdownloads folder
They are saved as flv file extension
Now to convert to mp3 see next screenshot

I have opened up quick media converter and dragged the video I wish to convert over to this program
I want to convert it to mp3 so click on the musical note icon and I chose the first file extension which is mp3
Output directory is where you want it saved to
Click on start conversion (indicated by red arrow)
click on any of the previews to enlarge.

It will now be saved as an mp3 file which you can listen to on your windows media player
Or add to an MP3 player or when you have enough of these then burn to cd

Now the particular youtube music video I saved had some talking in it at the beginning and I wanted to edit that part out
So I opened up my Nero Start smart and clicked on Nero Wave editor and dragged the Mp3 file right into the program
I clicked on the first green arrow button at the bottom and listened to it from the start and figured out exactly where the music part started
The highlighted waves in White are the part that is only the music
I highlight it and then go up to Edit and click on copy to file
And give it a name and this time it saves it as an wma
Which you can do exactly the same as an mp3 to listen and burn to cd as mentioned above.

Hope this tutorial is helpful.
