Sunday Drive Feb , 2009

It's been a while since we went for a drive. What better day, then on a nice sunny Sunday.
We started off at 7 11. Stino got slurpees for the kids. I was just over at Wikipedia and copied this interesting fact.

Despite its status as the coldest city in the world with a population of over 600,000Winnipeg, Manitoba was crowned the Slurpee Capital of the World for the ninth time in a row in 2008. In Manitoba, 7-Eleven stores across the province sell an average of 8,330 Slurpee drinks per month. The rest of Canada sells an average of 5,990, which makes Manitobans the world leader of Slurpee sales.

We drove by the floodway enroute to Birdshill Park.

what is this called? Wind snowboarding? I have no clue, but that fellow didn't seem to move anywhere.
I used the plugin filter called Photowiz contrast master to add this effect to the photo.
Clicking on any photo will enlarge it for a better look.

We headed to Birdshill Park Manitoba, which is only 15 minutes away from our house.
Here's some photos I took and some that Stino took too. I enhanced them all either with Photowiz Contrast Master or Alienskin Exposure using Paintshop Pro 12.

for this sepia photo, I used my Photo Aging Technique which you can find here.

We headed to Lockport Manitoba next. Took a few photos along the way there too.

Leaving Lockport I took a few pictures of St. Thomas Parish. Here is one of them.

Driving down River Road, I said to Stino to stop at Parish Church of St Andrews. We have passed by these churches a hundred times and I was thinking why I had never stopped and taken photos of them.

On the way home there sure was a pretty sunset but we couldn't find a good spot to take a good photo so I took this photo while Stino was driving.

And finally at home, I took this picture from our drive way of the full moon.

Well, time to make some of my Bigelow Earl Grey tea and watch an episode of Dexter.
